A leading law firm is seeking an Employment Associate Attorney with three to four years of experience in employment defense to join its highly regarded Employment and Labor practice in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves representing clients across various industries in complex employment litigation matters and providing strategic counsel on employment practices. The ideal candidate will be skilled in litigation and client advisory work and possess excellent research and writing abilities.

Duties

  • Manage employment litigation cases, including defense of wage and hour class actions, discrimination, and retaliation cases.
  • Draft and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment and other dispositive motions.
  • Advise clients on employment policies, procedures, and legal risks in employment practices.
  • Draft employment agreements and assist in developing training and auditing programs for employers.
  • Conduct investigations, provide crisis management, and advise on transactional matters such as employee handbooks and workplace policies.
  • Participate in seminars, webinars, and speaking engagements, and contribute to newsletters and media publications on employment law topics.

Requirements

  • Three to four years of experience in employment law, particularly in litigation defense.
  • Strong written and verbal advocacy skills, with a focus on research and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and develop creative solutions for clients.
  • Membership in the California Bar in good standing.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the California Bar.

Skills

  • Proficient in drafting and reviewing legal documents related to employment law.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work proactively.
  • Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
