Job Overview:

A well-established law firm in Silver Spring, MD, is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Entry-Level Immigration Attorney. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced legal environment, managing a high volume of cases while collaborating with a team of legal professionals. The position is ideal for a motivated attorney who is eager to develop expertise in immigration law and advocate for clients navigating complex legal matters.

Duties:

  • Consult with potential new clients to assess their legal needs.
  • Develop and execute legal strategies for immigration cases.
  • Manage multiple cases, deadlines, and legal projects effectively.
  • Supervise and train paralegals and support staff.
  • Draft and revise legal documents, including motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on legislative and judicial developments.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and trials.
  • Expand the firm's client base by participating in marketing efforts.
  • Work one Saturday per month with opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
  • Provide legal counsel on various immigration matters, including family petitions, asylum, individual hearings, SIJIS, U-Visas, waivers, and more.

Requirements:

  • Active Bar License in good standing from any U.S. state or Puerto Rico.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Fluency in Spanish (mandatory).
  • Prior immigration law experience is preferred, but candidates with experience in other legal areas and a strong interest in immigration law are encouraged to apply.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed attorney with an active Bar membership in the U.S.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
