Job Overview:

A growing litigation and family law group is seeking an experienced Probate Attorney to join its team remotely. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in probate, wills, trusts, and estate litigation. This position offers a competitive salary and an opportunity to manage complex cases, engage with clients, and participate in various aspects of probate and estate law.

Location:

  • San Francisco, CA

Duties:

  • Meet with clients to understand their legal needs and provide expert guidance.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents related to probate, wills, trusts, and estate matters.
  • Administer depositions, propound and respond to discovery, and conduct legal research.
  • Represent clients in court, argue motions, and participate in hearings and trials.
  • Conduct interviews with witnesses and draft settlement agreements.
  • Negotiate settlements, attend mediations, and participate in arbitrations.
  • Handle family law cases and other activities as requested by partners.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in California.
  • At least 6-16 years of experience as a licensed attorney.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in probate, wills, trusts, and estate litigation.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability.
  • Excellent client service skills and prompt response to client needs.
  • Desire and ability to make court appearances and argue motions.
  • Strong drafting, negotiating, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Courtroom experience is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California State Bar membership.

Skills:

  • Expertise in probate, wills, trusts, and estate law.
  • Exceptional legal research, drafting, and litigation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business judgment.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to clients in an accessible manner.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines.
