A law firm seeks a litigation associate attorney to join its growing practice in municipal law, labor and employment law, and general commercial/business litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience as lead counsel, strong litigation skills, and a willingness to travel within the state of Michigan. Duties

  • Manage all aspects of client litigation matters, from inception to resolution.
  • Serve as lead counsel in litigation cases, including motion hearings, trials, and appeals.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, and discovery materials.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support litigation strategy.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and advise clients on potential outcomes.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and before administrative bodies as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex litigation matters to deliver high-quality legal services.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Michigan and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan.
  • Demonstrated first-chair experience in litigation cases.
  • Strong interest in litigation and a proactive approach to managing cases.
  • Exceptional research, legal writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the state of Michigan.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the State Bar of Michigan.
