Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy Litigation Associate to join its commercial mortgage-backed securities special servicer and creditors’ rights team. This role involves handling complex commercial litigation matters, including foreclosures, receiverships, real estate disputes, and bankruptcy cases. The ideal candidate will have strong courtroom experience and the ability to manage litigation independently.

Location:

  • Princeton, NJ

Duties:

  • Handle commercial foreclosures, receiverships, and real estate litigation matters.
  • Manage all aspects of bankruptcy litigation, including motion practice, discovery (including e-discovery), and courtroom representation.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and trial proceedings.
  • Provide legal counsel on commercial landlord-tenant disputes, including preparing and serving predicate notices and court pleadings.

Requirements:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in commercial litigation and bankruptcy litigation.
  • Proficiency in handling complex real estate-related disputes.
  • Strong litigation background with experience in motion practice and trial preparation.
  • Familiarity with commercial landlord-tenant litigation preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership and good standing in the state of practice.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent advocacy and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
