Job Overview: A well-established national law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its Labor & Employment practice in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of litigation experience and a strong interest in handling a diverse range of labor and employment matters. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex legal issues involving cutting-edge topics, including labor and employment law, and to serve sophisticated clients. 

Location:

  • Richmond, Virginia

Duties:

  • Represent clients in labor and employment litigation, handling both individual and class action cases.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation materials.
  • Advise clients on various labor and employment law matters, including workplace disputes, employee relations, and compliance issues.
  • Manage caseloads, taking responsibility for cases from inception through resolution.
  • Participate in legal research, strategy development, and preparation for depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies and offer legal solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex litigation matters across multiple practice areas.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on case developments and progress.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in labor and employment law.
  • General civil litigation experience will also be considered.
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with the ability to assume responsibility for matters and demonstrate initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a large, collaborative team.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Virginia.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of Virginia.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of labor and employment law and litigation processes.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage complex litigation matters independently and as part of a team.
  • Client relationship management and effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
