This role involves representing both public and privately owned companies in a range of business matters, including commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong business acumen and be adept at navigating complex transactional work. This position requires effective communication and a proactive approach to client engagement, providing pragmatic legal counsel across diverse corporate projects.

Duties

  • Review, draft, and negotiate principal and ancillary agreements for commercial transactions, including supply, purchase, service, and transportation contracts.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and provide tailored legal solutions.
  • Engage in extensive client interactions, delivering clear and actionable advice.
  • Participate in various corporate and commercial projects, contributing to team-driven initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Maintain awareness of legal developments and industry trends to inform client strategy and counsel.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of corporate transactional experience, particularly in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to grasp complex business concepts quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
