Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in real estate financing transactions, including loan originations and modifications.
  • Provide legal counsel on lender representation, co-lender, and inter-creditor matters.
  • Handle transactions involving commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS).
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex real estate agreements and contracts.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis related to real estate law and transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to facilitate successful transaction outcomes.
  • Prepare and present legal documents, including memos and reports.
  • Manage case files and maintain accurate records of all legal activities.
  • Stay updated on current real estate law trends and changes to provide informed legal advice.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • 4-6 years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on real estate financing, lender representation, co-lender/inter-creditor matters, and/or CMBS.
  • Proven track record of handling complex real estate transactions and negotiations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education:
