Renewable Energy Project Development and Finance Associate Attorney

A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Development and Finance Associate Attorney with 4+ years of law firm experience in complex commercial contracts and mergers & acquisitions. The ideal candidate will have experience in project development contracts, including construction/EPC, equipment procurement, and offtake contracts, and a keen interest in applying this expertise to the renewable energy sector.

Job Details:

• Apply experience in project development contracts to renewable energy projects, including construction/EPC, equipment procurement, and offtake contracts.
• Handle legal aspects of renewable energy project development and finance, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), company or asset purchase and sale agreements, hedge contracts, equipment supply contracts, and construction contracts.
• Provide legal counsel and support on complex commercial contracts and transactions in the renewable energy industry.

Duties:

• Negotiate and draft project development contracts specific to renewable energy projects.
• Review and negotiate power purchase agreements (PPAs), construction contracts, equipment supply contracts, and other related agreements.
• Conduct due diligence and provide legal advice on mergers & acquisitions in the renewable energy sector.
• Assist clients in navigating regulatory and compliance issues related to renewable energy projects.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to achieve project objectives and mitigate legal risks.
• Handle transactional matters including company or asset acquisitions and divestitures in the renewable energy space.

Requirements:

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Colorado or eligibility for admission.
• 4+ years of law firm experience focusing on complex commercial contracts and mergers & acquisitions.
• Experience in project development contracts and transactions, preferably in renewable energy.
• Knowledge of power purchase agreements, construction contracts, and related agreements is highly desirable.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Colorado or eligibility for admission.
