Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join its team in Baltimore. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, with a focus on personal injury, property damage claims, and other related areas such as construction litigation, toxic torts, and transportation law. This position offers flexible work options, including hybrid work arrangements, with the expectation of commuting to the office a few days each week.

Duties:

  • Handle a high volume of cases related to insurance defense litigation.
  • Conduct legal research on complex issues, including products liability, premises liability, and toxic torts defense.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and discovery documents.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, and meetings.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and keep them informed of case developments.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff on case management and strategies.
  • Meet deadlines and manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in Maryland.
  • Admission to practice in other jurisdictions, such as DC, PA, or VA, is a plus.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a heavy caseload.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Experience in defending personal injury claims, construction litigation, and property damage claims is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to practice law in Maryland.
  • Additional admissions to practice in other jurisdictions (DC, PA, VA) are preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and high volumes of cases.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
