A law firm seeks a skilled Small Business Litigation and Transactional Attorney to join its Oklahoma City office. The ideal candidate will represent small businesses across a broad spectrum of legal matters, including transactional work, pre-litigation conflict resolution, and litigation cases. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to develop lasting client relationships and provide outside general counsel services to small business clients. Duties

  • Handle transactional matters such as drafting LLC documents, customer and employee contracts, vendor agreements, and business sale agreements.
  • Advise clients on conflict-driven cases, including business separations, breach of contract issues, and commercial collections.
  • Litigate business disputes, managing cases through all stages from pre-litigation to courthouse proceedings.
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients, often assuming the role of outside general counsel.
  • Maintain regular client contact, managing your caseload while the firm handles marketing and case financing.

Requirements

  • Proven litigation experience, though prior experience in business law is not strictly required (experience in areas such as insurance defense, collections, or family law is valued).
  • Strong ability to manage client expectations and handle direct client interactions.
  • Self-discipline and a strong desire to continually learn and grow in the field of business law.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active law license in good standing.

  • Expertise in drafting contracts and other transactional documents.
  • Proficiency in handling business disputes and litigation.
