Senior Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A respected legal practice in El Segundo, CA, recognized for its work with high-profile and high-net-worth clientele, is actively seeking a seasoned legal professional to join its Family Law division. This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated attorney with substantial courtroom and case strategy experience who is interested in a long-term career path with growth potential, including eventual partnership. Duties:

  • Manage a personal caseload involving complex family law matters

  • Draft legal documents including Declarations of Disclosure, discovery requests/responses, and Requests for Order

  • Conduct court appearances, including basic trials and motion hearings

  • Engage in direct client interaction to provide counsel and strategic case updates

  • Lead legal research, case planning, and litigation support

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members to support client objectives

  • Prepare for and present at RFO hearings and other contested proceedings

  • Handle sensitive issues such as custody, support, and division of assets with discretion and professionalism

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience practicing Family Law

  • Significant courtroom experience, including trials and hearings

  • Proven ability to independently manage and resolve complex legal matters

  • Strong drafting skills, including pleadings, motions, and discovery documents

  • Capacity to provide legal insight while maintaining empathetic client communication

  • High level of initiative and self-direction in case management

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Admitted and in good standing with the California State Bar

Certifications:

  • California Bar License (required)

Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Skilled in litigation strategy and courtroom advocacy

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
