Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle privacy litigation cases with a focus on data privacy, security incidents, and related regulatory matters.
  • Manage all aspects of case work-up and trial preparation, including drafting briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, memoranda, and discovery requests.
  • Provide practical legal advice on federal, state, and international privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and other emerging regulations.
  • Engage in legal research and writing on complex matters involving data privacy, cybersecurity, and technology transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients to guide data breaches and cybersecurity incidents, including immediate response actions and long-term strategies.
  • Advise on compliance with privacy laws and regulatory standards, with a focus on proactive risk management.
  • Represent clients in court or front of regulatory bodies, as required.
  • Work closely with other attorneys within the firm on cross-disciplinary matters involving technology, privacy, and corporate transactions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving privacy laws and data security regulations at the federal, state, and international levels.

Job Requirements:

  • Significant litigation experience, including managing all elements of case preparation and trial.
  • Strong legal research and writing experience, with a focus on drafting briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, memoranda, and discovery requests.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience providing practical legal advice to clients on complex legal issues, particularly related to privacy and data security.
  • Ability to manage client interactions and work on sophisticated, high-stakes matters.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California Bar (or eligibility to become a member).
  • Strong academic credentials.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with privacy litigation.
  • Knowledge and experience with federal, state, and international privacy laws (such as GDPR, and CCPA).
  • Experience in a law firm or similar legal environment.
