Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated and ambitious Entry-Level Personal Injury Associate Attorney to join its legal team in Tampa, Florida. This role offers an excellent opportunity for new attorneys to gain practical experience in the field of personal injury law. You will be working closely with seasoned attorneys, managing a caseload, and handling various stages of personal injury cases, from initial client consultations to settlement and litigation.

Duties

  • Conduct consultations with potential clients and serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the case.
  • Manage a caseload of personal injury cases, overseeing them from start to finish under the guidance of senior attorneys.
  • Gather and review critical case information, including medical records, bills, and documentation related to lost wages and lifestyle changes.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents in county and state courts.
  • Negotiate settlements and handle case resolution, keeping clients informed throughout the process.
  • Represent clients in mediation, depositions, and court hearings for motions and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with the Case Manager to assign appropriate tasks related to client follow-up, document retrieval, case tracking, and communication with insurance carriers.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 0-3 years of legal experience, with some exposure to personal injury law preferred.
  • Strong legal research and writing abilities, with experience drafting legal documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and insurance adjusters.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A proactive attitude toward learning and professional development.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with the State Bar of Florida (or ability to obtain within a reasonable time).

Skills

  • Strong research, writing, and document drafting capabilities.
  • Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work and prioritize tasks effectively.
