The ideal candidate will have a distinguished academic record and solid experience in law firms or clerkships. This role demands exceptional problem-solving, writing, and communication skills, along with substantial litigation experience in commercial real estate, distressed loans, and financial instruments. Demonstrated courtroom experience, including taking and defending depositions, is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in litigation involving commercial real estate, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, and creditor and lender liability.
  • Manage the litigation process including taking and defending depositions, preparing witnesses, and handling discovery.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Appear in court to present evidence, argue cases, and handle trial proceedings.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation and arbitration.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop and implement effective case strategies.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Delaware Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience or substantial clerkship experience, focusing on financial services, commercial real estate, and distressed loans.
  • Proven experience in taking and defending depositions and managing courtroom activities.
  • Strong academic credentials and demonstrated problem-solving and communication skills.
