Lateral Associate Attorney needed for Las Vegas office

A law firm in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking a Lateral Associate Attorney with experience in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling discovery, conducting and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, and managing document review. In-court experience is preferred, along with exceptional academic credentials and superior written and verbal communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Handle discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, conducting document reviews, and preparing discovery motions.
• Take and defend depositions of clients, witnesses, and experts.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide status updates on cases.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff on case strategy and execution.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Nevada Bar or eligibility to promptly obtain Nevada Bar admission.
• Should have 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation, with a demonstrated ability to handle cases independently.
• Excellent academic credentials, including strong law school performance.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently under deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
