Insurance Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Litigation Associate to join its national and international maritime and insurance litigation practices. This full-time, permanent position is based in Los Angeles and offers a hybrid working arrangement. Location:

Duties:

• Propose and develop litigation strategies for insurance-related matters
• Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel
• Draft legal reports, pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other litigation documents
• Take and defend depositions
• Argue motions and participate in mediations and trials
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys to handle national and international cases
• Provide excellent client service, keeping clients informed and ensuring their needs are met
• Participate in firm-wide initiatives and committees for professional development
• Contribute to business development and growth of the practice area

Requirements:

• Admission to the California Bar in good standing
• 3-8 years of experience in insurance litigation, with a focus on maritime and general insurance defense
• Strong litigation background with experience in strategy, client communication, and legal drafting
• Proven ability to take on trial preparation and trial responsibilities
• Additional bar admissions in other states (e.g., New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania) a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a caseload with moderate supervision
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Proven ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and international environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the California Bar (required)
• Additional state bar memberships a plus

Skills:

• Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills
• Ability to develop litigation strategies and take leadership in case management
