Job Overview: A respected law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in business and facilities law to join its Carlsbad, CA office. The attorney will support K-12 schools and community colleges by providing legal guidance on a variety of operational issues. The position involves both transactional and litigation work, encompassing areas such as real estate transactions, public contracting, construction procurement, and contract negotiations. The ideal candidate will have strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with a commitment to supporting educational institutions.

Location:

Duties:

  • Provide transactional and litigation support on a range of legal matters related to educational institutions.
  • Handle real estate transactions, lease agreements, and public contracting issues.
  • Assist with construction procurement and resolve construction-related disputes.
  • Engage in various contract negotiations to support client needs.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, memoranda, and other related documentation.
  • Advise clients on compliance and regulatory matters affecting school operations.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in legal practice, with a focus on business, facilities, or public sector law.
  • Membership in the State Bar of California.
