A law firm seeks a mid-level leveraged finance associate to join its dynamic team, focusing on supporting both lender and borrower practices. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience in leveraged buyout financings. Strong academic credentials and experience in a large law firm are essential, along with excellent analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Duties

  • Facilitate the structuring and negotiation of leveraged finance transactions, particularly in buyouts and acquisitions.
  • Provide comprehensive support to both lender and borrower-side practices within the finance team.
  • Conduct detailed due diligence and analysis of financing agreements and related documentation.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate key documents, including loan agreements and credit agreements.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients and team members to devise successful financing strategies.
  • Keep abreast of market trends and legal developments in the leveraged finance sector.

Requirements

  • At least three years of relevant experience in leveraged finance or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic performance is highly desirable.

Certifications

  • Must be admitted to practice law in IL.
