Job Title: Associate Attorney - Criminal Defense Division
Location: Chandler, AZ

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is currently seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Criminal Defense Division. The firm is focused on providing outstanding legal representation and excellent client service. This role involves managing criminal defense cases, ranging from misdemeanors to felonies, and requires a dedicated professional who is ready to take on significant responsibilities within a rapidly growing practice. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, courtroom experience, and a passion for criminal law.

Duties:

  • Manage criminal cases involving misdemeanor and felony charges in state courts, including assault, domestic violence, criminal traffic offenses, drug-related crimes, DUI, and theft.
  • Conduct client meetings, providing strategic legal counsel.
  • Oversee work delegated to division paralegals and legal assistants, ensuring quality and timely completion.
  • Prepare and file discovery, pleadings, motions, and participate in pretrial hearings, motion hearings, criminal bench trials, and jury trials.
  • Be available to travel statewide as needed to support clients in various jurisdictions.
  • Assist with administrative tasks when required, including scanning documents and preparing case files.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Arizona and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Criminal Law (prosecution or defense).
  • Strong ability to analyze case law and apply legal principles to real-world cases.
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain a positive image for the firm and clients.
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Willingness to show up prepared and on time for court appearances.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must possess an active Bar license in Arizona.
