Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a mid-level Business Transactions Associate to join its practice group. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex business transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, and possess strong analytical and writing skills. Exposure to securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures is a plus. A background in accounting or tax, or an LL.M. in Taxation, is highly preferred. The firm values excellent academic credentials, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team to serve clients effectively.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Manage and support complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions
  • Assist with securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures
  • Draft, review, and negotiate business transaction agreements
  • Provide legal advice and strategic guidance to clients on business matters
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Work independently on client matters while collaborating with team members
  • Ensure high-quality client service in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in business transactions, particularly mergers and acquisitions
  • Exposure to securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures is preferred
  • Accounting or tax experience, or an LL.M. in Taxation, strongly preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Strong writing and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Attention to detail and a focus on client service

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • LL.M. in Taxation (preferred but not required)

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships
