Duties:

  • Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload of diverse immigration cases, ensuring timely progress and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct client intakes and meet with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and humanitarian applications.
  • Review and revise immigration packets to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration-related matters.
  • Provide strategic consultations to potential clients and develop individualized immigration strategies.
  • Assist clients and witnesses in preparing for court hearings and USCIS interviews.
  • Conduct legal analysis to assess potential benefits and options for clients’ cases.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration matters.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Admitted to practice law in Texas.
  • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in Family-Based Petitions, EOIR cases, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS procedures.
  • Experience with immigration case management software is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and client interaction skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and multi-faceted cases.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
