Job Overview

A reputable law firm is seeking a motivated and highly qualified associate attorney to join its Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice. The role involves working on complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate governance matters. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate directly with clients and engage in a variety of transactional work.

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate transactional documents related to mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate matters.
  • Advise clients on corporate governance issues and complex commercial transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients to structure and execute M&A deals and other business arrangements.
  • Conduct due diligence, prepare related documentation, and coordinate with other legal and business professionals.
  • Support the national Corporate M&A practice by contributing to team-oriented projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate and transactional law, specifically in mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate governance.
  • Previous experience working in a law firm setting.
  • Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and manage complex transactional documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • High level of ambition and drive to support and grow a national practice.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law, or eligibility to obtain licensure, in the state of Missouri.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent drafting and writing abilities.
