A law firm seeks a skilled Associate Attorney to join its team in Denver, CO. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment. The firm is looking for a motivated individual with 2-7 years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on insurance-related matters such as coverage disputes, personal injury, premises liability, and construction defect lawsuits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investigating claims, drafting legal motions, and appearing in court, with the chance to take ownership of cases from start to finish.

Duties:

  • Investigate and defend first- and third-party claims, including insurance coverage disputes and personal injury matters.
  • Take and defend depositions in a variety of cases.
  • Draft dispositive motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients at hearings in state and federal courts.
  • Perform legal research and provide thoughtful, independent analysis to inform case strategies.
  • Manage case files through all stages, from pre-litigation analysis to trial and appeal.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Maintain high standards of legal writing and client communication.
  • Handle a diverse and demanding workload efficiently while meeting deadlines.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-7 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance-related areas such as coverage disputes, personal injury, premises liability, and construction defect cases.
  • Experience drafting coverage opinions and conducting examinations under oath is highly desirable.
  • Strong research, writing, and independent thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable using technology and legal research tools.
  • Must be outgoing, collegial, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Creative problem-solver with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Strong academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado (or eligible for admission).

Skills:

  • Strong litigation experience with a focus on insurance law, including coverage disputes and bad faith claims.
  • Proficient in legal research, writing, and analysis.
  • Skilled in depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters from pre-litigation through trial.
