A law firm seeks a dedicated and motivated Personal Injury Associate Attorney to join its team in Houston, Texas. Duties

  • Represent clients in personal injury cases, including automobile accidents, slip and falls, wrongful death, and catastrophic injuries.
  • Manage a personal injury docket from case intake to trial preparation and resolution.
  • Sign up new clients, ensuring all documentation and initial steps are completed thoroughly.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies on behalf of clients.
  • Draft pleadings and respond to written discovery requests.
  • Prepare and conduct depositions, as well as attend court hearings and mediations.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, evidence collection, and presentation.

Requirements

  • Licensing:
    • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas for at least 1 year.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 1 year of experience in personal injury law is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage a high caseload efficiently.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Language:
    • Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar certification to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills

    • Experience with personal injury cases, including settlement negotiations and trial preparation.
    • Proficiency in drafting legal documents, pleadings, and discovery responses.
