A law firm in Dallas, TX is seeking a skilled Immigration Attorney to join their team. Reporting to the Sr. Associate Attorney, the Immigration Attorney will manage a diverse caseload and interact directly with clients while collaborating with the firm's Immigration Team. The role includes explaining immigration concepts, representing clients in removal proceedings, and preparing various immigration applications. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish, possess exceptional interpersonal skills, and have a strong background in immigration law.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Sr. Associate Attorney and manage a caseload of immigration cases.
  • Explain complex immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Visit detention centers to conduct intakes and gather case information.
  • Prepare and file a wide range of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications and packets.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and develop appropriate immigration strategies.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to determine potential case benefits and prepare legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

  • Expertise in immigration law and procedures.
  • Proficiency in case management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop and implement case strategies effectively.
