Associate Attorney Commercial Loan Workout & Foreclosure

Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its commercial loan workout and foreclosure department. This role involves handling loan workout negotiations, managing foreclosure litigation, and representing clients in both New York and New Jersey courts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of foreclosure laws and procedures, with a preference for those knowledgeable in New Jersey foreclosure law.

Duties:

• Manage commercial mortgage foreclosure cases from initiation to resolution.

• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, and court filings.

• Oversee foreclosure litigation caseload, ensuring adherence to deadlines.

• Represent clients in legal proceedings, including trials, hearings, and depositions.

• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to deliver high-quality legal services.

• Maintain client communication, providing updates on case progress and legal strategies.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in foreclosure litigation.

• Proficiency in handling litigation from case initiation through trial.

• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and independently.

• Familiarity with legal research databases such as LexisNexis.

• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in legal documentation.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York and/or New Jersey State Bar.

Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of foreclosure laws, procedures, and regulatory frameworks in New York and New Jersey.

• Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Proficiency in foreclosure case management software and legal research tools.

• Effective collaboration with legal teams, clients, and third-party entities.
