Duties:

• Manage and oversee a caseload under the guidance of senior partners
• Draft and prepare motions, pleadings, and responses to discovery requests
• Conduct legal research and draft memorandums
• Represent clients at hearings and court conferences
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Attend site inspections and consultations with expert witnesses
• Participate in mediation sessions and settlement discussions
• Assist in trial preparation and support litigation efforts

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in insurance defense, with a focus on construction claims (preferred)
• Ability to handle a wide range of complex legal matters independently
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience in deposition work, trial preparation, and client interaction
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Must be licensed to practice law in New York

Certifications:

• Active Bar License in the state of New York

Skills:

• Proficiency with Westlaw and legal research tools
• Strong written communication and legal drafting skills
• Experience managing litigation from inception through resolution
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work under tight deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
