Mid-Level Insurance Coverage and Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Mid-Level Insurance Coverage and Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in insurance coverage and litigation, including first and/or third-party matters. The role requires Illinois Bar admission and a strong background in handling complex insurance disputes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Insurance Coverage Analysis: Evaluate and analyze insurance coverage issues, including interpreting policy language and advising clients on coverage determinations.
• Litigation Management: Manage and handle insurance-related litigation, including drafting and filing pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Client Representation: Represent clients in court proceedings, including depositions, hearings, and trials, effectively advocating on their behalf.
• Case Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic plans for managing insurance coverage disputes and litigation.
• Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation, including analyzing case law and statutory provisions relevant to insurance coverage.
• Communication: Maintain regular and effective communication with clients, providing updates and strategic advice throughout the litigation process.
• Document Preparation: Prepare and review legal documents, including coverage opinions, settlement agreements, and discovery materials.

Requirements

• Bar Admission: Admission to the Illinois State Bar is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance coverage and litigation, with experience in both first and/or third-party matters.
• Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
