Duties:

• Manage and litigate patent cases, from initial case development through trial
• Draft legal briefs, motions, and other litigation documents
• Take and defend depositions, including expert witnesses
• Engage in PTAB and trial proceedings, ensuring effective case management
• Supervise and mentor junior associates, paralegals, and legal support staff
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop litigation strategies and solutions
• Provide clear and concise legal advice to clients
• Handle case management, including deadlines, discovery, and trial preparation

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent litigation and prosecution
• Proven ability to manage cases independently and collaborate with teams
• Strong experience with motions practice, depositions, and case management
• Familiarity with PTAB proceedings and trial experience preferred
• Proven ability to supervise junior associates or paralegals
• Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and orally
• Licensed to practice law in Alabama or ability to be licensed soon after hire

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• An engineering degree is highly preferred

Certifications:

• Admission to the USPTO (preferred)
