Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in tax controversy matters, including federal, state, and local tax audits, appeals, and litigation.
• Provide legal counsel on tax issues relating to complex domestic and international tax matters.
• Handle disputes with the IRS and other taxing authorities, negotiating settlements and pursuing litigation when necessary.
• Prepare legal documents such as petitions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
• Collaborate with clients to develop strategies to resolve tax disputes favorably.
• Assist clients with voluntary disclosure programs, collections, and other tax controversy-related issues.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on various tax issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax law and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, and colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with other practice areas within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
• LLM in Taxation is required.
• 4-6 years of experience in tax controversy, including audits, appeals, and tax litigation.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
• Demonstrated experience in international tax matters.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
• Proven track record of successful client representation in tax disputes.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• LLM in Taxation (required).
• Active Pennsylvania Bar License.
