A law firm in Doylestown is seeking a Municipal Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of experience to provide legal advice and representation to municipal clients on a variety of issues, including land use, zoning, public contracts, and governance. The candidate will draft legal documents, conduct research, attend meetings and hearings, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to municipal clients on land use, zoning, public contracts, and governance matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other legal documents for municipalities.
  • Interpret and provide legal guidance on laws affecting public bodies, such as the Right-to-Know Law, Sunshine Act, Ethics Act, and Municipalities Planning Code.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze issues, and provide opinions on municipal law issues.
  • Assist municipalities with drafting, reviewing, and enforcing codes and ordinances.
  • Advocate for municipal clients in zoning matters, including variances, special exceptions, conditional uses, and eminent domain proceedings.
  • Attend and participate in municipal board meetings, hearings, and other proceedings as required.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of municipal policies and procedures.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Utilize exceptional organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Utilize computer skills, including proficiency in law practice management software and document management systems.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar and in good standing.
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in municipal law, including handling all aspects of municipal legal matters.
  • Experience in Eastern PA counties, including Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Lehigh, preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with municipal clients and colleagues.
