Appellate Attorney

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking an Appellate Attorney to join their team.

Job Overview:

The Appellate Attorney will be responsible for managing and arguing appeals in both state and federal appellate courts. This role requires a skilled attorney with a strong background in appellate law, excellent research and writing abilities, and experience in presenting oral arguments.

Duties:

• Handle all aspects of appellate litigation, including drafting briefs, motions, and petitions.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support appellate arguments.
• Analyze trial records and identify appealable issues.
• Present oral arguments before state and federal appellate courts.
• Advise trial attorneys on preserving issues for appeal and post-trial motions.
• Collaborate with clients and other attorneys to develop appellate strategies.
• Stay current on changes in appellate law and relevant case precedents.

Requirements:

• Bar admission in the state of California.
• Proven experience in appellate litigation, preferably in both state and federal courts.
• Strong understanding of appellate procedures and legal principles.
• Demonstrated ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents.
• Experience presenting oral arguments in appellate courts.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admitted to practice law in the state of California.
