A law firm is seeking a motivated and skilled Litigation Attorney to join its team in Chicago, IL. This role provides the opportunity to handle complex legal matters, represent clients in litigation, and contribute to strategic legal advocacy. The firm is committed to providing exceptional representation and securing justice for clients in first-party property insurance disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Advocacy: Represent clients in legal disputes, focusing on first-party insurance claims, coverage disputes, and bad faith litigation.

  • Case Development: Conduct thorough legal research, review policy documents, and assess claims to build strong cases.

  • Litigation Management: Oversee and handle a diverse caseload from initial filing to resolution, including motions, pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.

  • Courtroom Representation: Advocate for clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, demonstrating persuasive legal arguments.

  • Negotiation & Settlements: Engage in settlement discussions with opposing counsel and insurance carriers to achieve favorable outcomes.

  • Collaboration & Strategy: Work closely with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and legal professionals to develop litigation strategies and ensure effective case handling.

  • Legal Documentation: Draft legal memoranda, motions, pleadings, and correspondence with precision and clarity.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Licensure: Active and in good standing, license to practice law in the state of Illinois.

  • Experience: 1-6 years of litigation experience, preferably in first-party insurance or property damage claims.

  • Legal Expertise: Strong knowledge of insurance law, civil procedure, and trial advocacy.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication abilities, with strong persuasive and negotiation skills.

  • Analytical Ability: Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop strategic approaches to case resolution.

  • Case Management: Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple cases efficiently.

  • Team Player: Works effectively in a collaborative legal environment while maintaining independence in case handling.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $200,000 (Base + Commission)
