Job Overview
An established and expanding law firm is seeking a Senior Partner-level Litigation Attorney with experience in complex litigation to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will bring a portable book of business with at least $200,000 in collections, strong leadership skills, and a desire to contribute to the firm’s ongoing success. This position offers the opportunity to manage cases from inception through trial, including drafting discovery pleadings, motions, and taking depositions.

Duties

  • Handle complex litigation cases from inception to trial, including drafting discovery pleadings and motions, and arguing dispositive motions.
  • Take first or second chair during trials, managing all aspects of trial preparation.
  • Develop case strategies and advise clients on risk mitigation, pre-suit resolution options, and legal strategies.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and manage case details, including interviewing clients and witnesses.
  • Supervise junior attorneys and staff on document review projects and manage the discovery process.
  • Participate in mediation, arbitration, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and firm staff in various professional activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
  • Experience as first or second chair during trials is preferable.
  • Proven ability to manage litigation matters independently, from inception through trial.
  • Experience in drafting complex pleadings, motions, and managing discovery.
  • Strong legal research skills and experience with legal research tools such as Westlaw.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to provide leadership, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and contribute to a growing team.
  • Licensed to practice and in good standing in Tennessee.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Tennessee
