A law firm seeks an experienced Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Resource Attorney to support the firm's M&A practice by enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of its legal teams. The ideal candidate will help streamline the M&A process through database management, form drafting, legal updates, and more. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with attorneys, manage legal resources, and contribute to business development and educational efforts. This position is based in Seattle, WA.

Duties:

  • Transaction Database Management:
    • Manage and input deal terms from signed transactions into the firm's Transaction Database.
    • Coordinate with the knowledge management team to audit and maintain the database for accuracy and relevance.
  • Form and Precedent Drafting/Management:
    • Draft and revise template documents and other legal precedents.
    • Curate and organize the M&A group’s forms, precedents, and practice resources.
  • Legal Updates:
    • Monitor and stay updated on legal and regulatory changes affecting M&A.
    • Prepare summaries and alerts on relevant legal developments and integrate new legal requirements into practice resources.
  • Legal Education:
    • Collaborate with the legal education team to develop content for associate training and firmwide educational initiatives related to M&A.
  • Marketing/Business Development:
    • Partner with the M&A marketing team to strategize and create content for promotional materials, including blogs, presentations, articles, and books.
  • Assisting with Attorney Requests:
    • Provide daily support by responding to attorney requests for precedents, templates, and other resources.
  • New Initiatives:
    • Contribute to resource, knowledge management, and practice innovation projects as they arise.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the firm’s leadership.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of experience in U.S. M&A corporate or transactional practice.
  • Experience with both public and private M&A, corporate governance, and market trends.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal documents and transactions with strong organizational skills.
  • Prior experience in providing legal resources, managing knowledge databases, or similar roles is highly desirable.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active and current license to practice law in the U.S.
