Job Overview:
A well-established estate planning law firm in Southwest Minneapolis is seeking a dedicated and motivated Trust & Estate Planning Attorney. The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of experience in estate planning and a passion for helping clients navigate complex estate matters. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative and client-focused environment, where the attorney will provide comprehensive estate planning services, including the creation of wills, trusts, and other key documents. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to client relationships.

Location:

  • Minneapolis, MN

Duties:

  • Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other essential estate planning documents.
  • Consult with clients to understand their needs and goals for asset distribution.
  • Develop and implement strategies for clients' estate planning, including tax and asset protection strategies.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients, offering effective solutions to meet their long-term needs.
  • Manage client relationships through regular, clear communication and personalized service.
  • Collaborate with the firm’s team to provide excellent client experiences.
  • Stay updated on the latest estate planning laws, trends, and best practices.
  • Handle related legal matters such as probate, elder law, special needs planning, and dispute resolution, if applicable.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in estate planning.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Minnesota State Bar license.
  • Experience in probate, elder law, MA benefits, or special needs planning is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Proactive in managing client relationships and legal matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Motivated to grow professionally and contribute to the firm’s success.
  • No existing book of business required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Minnesota State Bar license.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and drafting skills for estate planning documents.
  • Strong knowledge of estate planning laws and regulations.
