Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience

A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Associate Attorney to join its legal team in Birmingham, AL. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience to work closely with senior attorneys on a diverse range of legal matters. The Associate Attorney will contribute to litigation, transactional work, and advisory services, playing a key role in representing clients in court and providing strategic legal advice.

Duties

• Manage a team consisting of associate attorneys, paralegals, and administrative assistants.
• Conduct legal research on various issues, analyze statutes, regulations, and case law, and provide clear interpretations.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and agreements.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and negotiations.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution processes.
• Interview clients, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather information and evidence.
• Assess potential risks and liabilities related to legal matters and offer strategic guidance to clients.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies and prepare for trials.
• Maintain up-to-date case files and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judges, and all parties involved in legal proceedings.
• Delegate tasks effectively to associate attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the state bar association.
• 3-5 years of legal experience, preferably in litigation or a related practice area.
• Strong academic background with exceptional research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of substantive and procedural law relevant to the firm’s practice areas.
• Proficiency in using legal research tools and technology.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a team setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
