Job Overview: A law firm based in Houston, TX, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Global Projects Construction Associate Attorney. This role requires a legal professional with a strong background in construction contracts and project management. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in handling various contract types, exceptional drafting and analytical skills, and a keen interest in the energy sector. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, with excellent communication and organizational skills, and will be responsible for delivering high-quality substantive work and exceptional client service.

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts including EPC, EPCM, BOP, equipment supply, and operation and maintenance contracts.
  • Manage and lead a team of junior associates and support staff, working closely with partners to ensure effective project execution.
  • Provide expert legal analysis and advice on complex construction and global project issues.
  • Analyze and synthesize new information related to construction and energy projects, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their businesses and needs to provide tailored legal solutions.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and external legal experts to ensure comprehensive legal support for global projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and legal developments affecting construction and energy projects.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in construction law, with a focus on various contract types including EPC, EPCM, BOP, equipment supply, and operation and maintenance contracts.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and supervising junior associates.
  • Strong drafting and contract analysis skills.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information and provide practical legal advice.
  • Demonstrated interest in the energy industry and understanding of clients’ business operations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to delivering high-quality work and client service.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
