Duties:

  • Manage and coordinate IP litigation cases, ensuring smooth case progression.
  • Draft and review motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
  • Take and defend depositions, working closely with experts to support case development.
  • Participate in PTAB proceedings and trial preparations.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, providing case updates and legal guidance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IP litigation, with a focus on patent matters.
  • Proven track record of managing cases independently, including motion practice and depositions.
  • Experience with PTAB proceedings and trial work.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina, or the ability to become licensed shortly after hiring.
  • Admission to the USPTO is preferred, especially for candidates with an engineering background.

Skills:

  • Expertise in IP litigation, particularly patent disputes.
  • Strong brief writing, legal research, and document review skills.
  • Ability to manage cases independently and lead junior staff.
