Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Associate Attorney specializing in Immigration and Family Law. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter, capable of managing a caseload with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of client service and legal expertise. The role offers an opportunity for growth and the ability to work independently on immigration assessments, USCIS filings, EOIR matters, and Family Law cases.

Location:

  • Long Beach, CA

Duties:

  • Handle a caseload consisting of immigration assessments, USCIS filings, EOIR matters, and Family Law matters
  • Perform in-depth review of client's FOIA results and case facts to provide accurate immigration assessments
  • Advise clients on their immigration options based on detailed analysis
  • Meet filing deadlines as directed
  • Review USCIS and EOIR filings submitted to court
  • Attend EOIR Court Hearings, USCIS Interviews, and Family Law hearings online and in person
  • Prepare and draft legal documents such as declarations, cover letters, motions, and briefs
  • Conduct client meetings, addressing case-related questions with accuracy and professionalism
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring satisfaction throughout the case
  • Provide case information to other departments upon request
  • Perform duties independently with minimal supervision

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (Required)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Professional demeanor and exceptional client management

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership (Required)
  • February and July 2024 Bar takers are encouraged to apply

Skills:

  • Proficient in Immigration and Family Law
  • Strong litigation and courtroom experience
  • In-depth knowledge of EOIR and USCIS procedures
  • Strong writing, drafting, and research skills
  • Client-focused with the ability to manage sensitive matters
  • Spanish and English language fluency
