A law firm in Nashville, TN, is seeking a diligent Creditor's Rights Attorney with expertise in consumer credit collections and litigation. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of state laws governing consumer collections, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and demonstrate outstanding communication skills with a strong commitment to client satisfaction.

Duties:

  • Utilize the firm’s case management and reporting software to effectively manage assigned creditor's rights cases.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, including hearings and trials, with occasional travel required.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of consumer credit collection laws specific to Tennessee and other applicable jurisdictions.
  • Provide proactive client communication and timely updates on case developments.
  • Collaborate with legal support staff to ensure efficient case management and resolution.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements with debtors and opposing counsel as necessary.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Tennessee or eligibility for admission on motion.
  • Should have experience in creditor’s rights, consumer credit collections, or related litigation.
  • Proficiency in Tennessee state laws and regulations related to consumer collections and the FDCPA.
  • Strong courtroom presence and experience handling litigation proceedings.
  • Ability to effectively use case management software for efficient case handling.
  • Preferred multi-state licensure to manage cases across different jurisdictions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and client care.
