Job Overview

Duties

  • Lead and manage complex legal matters in areas such as Corporate, Litigation, and Trusts & Estates.
  • Develop and maintain strong, lasting client relationships.
  • Drive business development initiatives and contribute to the firm’s growth.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys across practices to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Mentor and guide junior attorneys and other legal staff.
  • Participate in firm-wide strategic initiatives and contribute to leadership goals.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in one or more of the firm's core practice areas (Corporate, Litigation, Trusts & Estates).
  • Proven track record in business development and client management.
  • Experience leading and managing teams in a law firm setting.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage complex legal issues.
  • Excellent client service orientation with the ability to develop innovative legal solutions.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the bar of at least one jurisdiction where the position is based.

This large, full-service firm is very women-oriented, and it has created many benefits to appeal particularly to women, including flexible work arrangements and 12-week paid maternity leave. Many of the firms attorneys are active in many community, professional and civic matters. Associates receive in-house training in a variety of areas and early client contact and hands-on experience. There is a business casual dress code, but associates are expected to keep professional clothing at the office in case of short notice meetings. All associates are expected to spend at least 50 hours annually on pro bono, and this is part of their billable hour expectation of 1800.
