Duties:

  • Conduct detailed workplace investigations within educational institutions, ensuring adherence to legal standards and regulations.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation to educational clients on a wide range of education law matters, including student rights, employment disputes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as investigative reports, memoranda, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues to strategize and resolve complex legal issues.
  • Deliver clear and persuasive presentations of findings and recommendations to clients and relevant parties.
  • Stay updated on developments in education law, including legislative changes and case law updates.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting workplace investigations, preferably in education law, public sector law, or labor/employment.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and communicate findings effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Title IX experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with public sector or education law is advantageous.
