Attorney needed for Hagerstown office

Job Overview:
A prominent civil litigation defense law firm is seeking Attorney with experience in Workers' Compensation (WC) and Liability Insurance Defense for its Maryland locations. These are hands-on positions with a focus on billable hours and complex litigation. The firm offers a collaborative environment with competitive compensation and benefits.

Location:

• Hagerstown, MD

Duties:

• Handle litigation cases in Workers' Compensation and Liability Insurance Defense.
• Maintain billable hour targets and ensure compliance with firm productivity standards.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and management.
• Develop case strategies, conduct legal research, and draft legal documents.
• Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Manage case files, prepare motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• Foster and maintain client relationships through effective legal counsel and communication.

Requirements:

• Admission to the Maryland Bar (D.C. Bar is a plus).
• 1-3 years of experience in Workers' Compensation or Liability Insurance Defense.
• Previous experience managing billable hours and case workloads.
• Strong communication skills with clients, opposing counsel, and management.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Maryland (D.C. Bar is a plus).

Skills:

• Litigation and trial experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Workers' Compensation and Liability Insurance Defense.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
