Associate Commercial Litigation

A law firm seeks an associate attorney with 2-3 years of commercial litigation experience to join its Chicago office. The ideal candidate will possess strong academic credentials and a solid background in managing complex legal cases. This role involves supporting senior attorneys with all stages of litigation, including case management, discovery, and trial preparation. Duties:

• Assist senior attorneys in managing and litigating commercial disputes from inception through resolution.
• Draft and edit persuasive legal briefs, motions, and memoranda.
• Conduct legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
• Oversee discovery processes, including document review and production, depositions, and interrogatories.
• Contribute to trial preparation and assist in representing clients in court.
• Manage client relationships by providing timely updates and maintaining effective communication.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of experience in commercial litigation, ideally gained in a large law firm environment.
• Strong research and writing skills, with a proven ability to draft complex legal documents.
• Experience in case management and litigation strategy.
• Judicial clerkship experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop practical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for licensure in Illinois.
