Job Overview:
A law firm based in Washington is looking for an experienced Family Law Attorney to join its team remotely. The firm focuses on low-conflict, collaborative divorce cases, aiming to resolve family law issues with minimal litigation. The firm is seeking a team player with strong negotiation skills and a passion for helping clients navigate divorce through peaceful resolutions. As a Family Law Attorney, the ideal candidate will handle a variety of family law cases, collaborate with mentors, and contribute to the firm's mission of reducing conflict in family law proceedings.

Location:

  • Seattle, WA

Duties:

  • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, and developing strategic action plans.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed.
  • Regularly audit active cases and provide monthly updates to clients, summarizing case status and next steps.
  • Collaborate with a mentoring attorney to brainstorm case strategies and optimal solutions for clients.
  • Review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders.
  • Lead a legal team, including paralegals and legal assistants, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
  • Participate in legal team meetings and one-on-one mentoring sessions to promote individual and team growth.

Requirements:

  • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, especially in high-emotion, stressful situations.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working on family law matters.
  • Experience with real estate matters in family law cases.
  • Undergraduate degree with a Juris Doctor degree required.
  • A criminal justice background is a plus.
  • Current Washington State Bar license.
  • Must reside in the State of Washington.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney with a solid understanding of family law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Compassionate client service and empathy for families in distress.
  • Familiarity with family law processes, including divorce, child custody, and support.
  • Strong leadership skills for managing a legal team.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
