Job Title: Post-Grant Proceedings Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm located in Boston, MA, is seeking an experienced Post-Grant Proceedings Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of post-law school experience and possess strong legal and technical expertise in patent law. This position involves working with a dynamic team on complex patent invalidity analyses, preparing legal arguments, collaborating with experts, and engaging in oral advocacy before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).

Duties:

  • Perform patent invalidity analysis and research prior art

  • Draft petitions for Inter Partes Review (IPR) and Post-Grant Review (PGR), including legal and technical briefs

  • Collaborate with technical experts to prepare expert testimony

  • Conduct and defend expert depositions

  • Provide oral advocacy before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB)

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

  • 2-5 years of post-law school experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work well in collaborative team environments

  • Admitted to or eligible for admission in Massachusetts, New York, or Washington, DC

  • Admission to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice in Massachusetts, New York, or Washington, DC (required)

  • Admission to practice before the USPTO (preferred)

Skills:

  • Proficient in patent litigation and post-grant proceedings

  • Strong analytical and research skills, particularly related to patent invalidity

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
