Job Overview: An established law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with at least one year of litigation experience to join its Orange County, California office. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of civil litigation matters for sophisticated clients, covering areas such as professional liability, employment defense, products liability, toxic torts, environmental disputes, A&E, and general construction litigation. Location:

Duties:

  • Handle a diverse range of civil litigation matters, including professional liability, employment defense, products liability, toxic torts, environmental disputes, and construction litigation.
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other documents.
  • Participate in discovery, depositions, and hearings.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation.
  • Manage client relationships and provide legal advice on ongoing matters.
  • Assume increasing responsibility for cases as experience and competence grow.
  • Collaborate within a team-oriented environment to manage complex legal issues.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in litigation, with a focus on civil litigation.
  • Experience in areas such as professional liability, employment defense, products liability, toxic torts, environmental disputes, A&E, and construction litigation is highly desirable.
  • Strong academic credentials with excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Motivated, proactive, and willing to take ownership of cases and responsibilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in California.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California Bar license in good standing.

Skills:

  • Legal research and writing.
  • Experience drafting legal documents, including motions and pleadings.
  • Knowledge of civil litigation procedures and case management.
  • Strong communication and client interaction skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
