A law firm in Chicago is seeking a highly experienced Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate should be currently licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and possess at least 5 years of prior experience in defending civil litigation cases. This role involves independently managing case files, strong communication and analytical skills, exceptional research and writing abilities, and trial experience, particularly in areas such as medical malpractice, nursing home litigation, and premises liability.

Duties:

  • Independently manage case files, including conducting legal research, document review, and case preparation.
  • Defend clients in civil litigation cases, with a focus on medical malpractice, nursing home litigation, and premises liability.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents, pleadings, motions, and other court filings.
  • Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts to advance legal matters and represent client interests.
  • Prepare and participate in trials, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to develop legal strategies.
  • Maintain detailed case records and documentation.
  • Stay updated on changes in Illinois state laws and regulations related to civil litigation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of prior experience defending civil litigation cases, including medical malpractice and nursing home litigation.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to independently manage case files.
  • Trial experience, including participation in hearings and trials.
  • Proficiency in civil litigation, including medical malpractice, nursing home litigation, and premises liability.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
